Service Pack 1

Developement on a current product never stopps at PILOT'S. Thus we are happy, to announce the imminent release of Service Pack 1 for The Clipper. It mostly contains new features and updates and even one Bugfix ... There will be a second mayor Service Pack later this year. It will contain a new set of sounds and a new FlightModel. We will keep you posted on that.

Service Pack 1 will be available shortly for free from our Downloads section. It is available as a DOWNLOAD ONLY! Registered users will receive an email upon release. If you are not yet registered, please do so now! You will need the ORIGINAL Boeing B 314 - The Clipper CD-ROM (CD Version) or your original key file (OnlineVersion) for installation.

Service Pack 1 amends the following:

The New Visual:

- corrected berwick texture (The Berwick of the initial release was painted in green-brown colors. However this paint scheme was based on fictional paintings. Not a single color picture exists. Well we did not find one ... However, RAF painting scheme usually was green-grey. So we corrected that.)

- textured dolly (much more realistic)

- textured engines (each cylinder textured; see even the wires!)

- textured interiors (seats, berths, walls, even carpets!)

- fuel dump valves (we recently discovered a picture, which showed us an area of the fuselage, which was not clear until then!)

- VC windows and normal windows now have different textures (thus the normal windows look more reflective and don't make the VC windows look like some type of plastic.)

- corrected rudder pedals in VC (Well, we initially goofed here. They moved in the wrong direction ... Only one usere noticed! ;-) Corrected now.)

- the prototypes have been updated and have the special taxi lights as described in the manual

The New 2D Panel:

- speaks for itself. (Some gimmicks have been added. Toggle the Yoke and a Sunshield. The honor for this new panel goes to Claudio Mussner! Thanks Claudio! Claudio has initiated the "Brasilienhilfe", a project helping poor people in Brasil. If you feel the urge to help and are interested what might be needed, please contact them at brasilienhilfe@uol.com.br)

- the gauges have been amended in relation to the aspect ratio of the new panelbitmap

The New EngineSmoke Effect

- whatch the engines exhaust black smoke on too rich mixture (we do sense that from the fuel flow; so when you exceed a certain fuelflow, the engines will show you! This also was initiated by Claudio)
